The Sunscreen Film Festival will hold A Night on Broadway, a fundraising concert to benefit the festival, on September 3rd at the historic Ft. Harrison Hotel (210 S. Ft. Harrison Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33755). The doors will open at 7:00 p.m., and the show will begin at 8:00.

A Night on Broadway will feature top Broadway shows that made it to Hollywood. The show follows the story of Alistair Montgomery the Third as he explores the old theatre he just inherited from his uncle. An astute businessman, Alistair wants nothing to do with running a theatre, until the spirit of the theatre begins to work its magic on him…

The show stars Joanie Sigal, Tom Godfrey, the Flag Band, the Performing Arts Department of Clearwater Academy International, and Special Guests. A Night on Broadway will feature numbers from the following famous Broadway-to-Film musicals: Annie, Bye-Bye Birdie, Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, the Phantom of the Opera.

New York-style desserts and treats will be created by the Gold-medal winning chefs of the Ft. Harrison, in a addition to a cash bar. A silent auction will be held during the event, and two student films created during the Summer Film Camp will be screened.

Tickets are $30 per person, or $250 for a table of 10. Proceeds will benefit the Sunscreen Film Festival, a program of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Society.

“As a non-profit organization we’re very thankful for all the support people in the community provide,” said Sunscreen Film Festival Founder Tony Armer. “All the support makes for a better festival and we couldn’t even have a festival without everyone in the community being involved.”

About the Sunscreen Film Festival:

The Sunscreen Film Festival was founded by independent filmmakers Tony Armer and Derek Miner in 2005 to encourage the creation, production, and exhibition of independent film in Florida through educational programs and public screenings. Since it’s inception, the annual festival has grown into “one of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world”, according to MovieMaker Magazine, thanks to the laid-back feel, fresh program, dialogue driven educational classes, and celebrity attendees such as John Travolta, Patrick Wilson, Billy Dee Williams, and X-Men Producer Ralph Winter. The Sunscreen Film Festival is hosted by the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Film Society, a Florida not for profit corporation.
