Station Square Park hosts car show, bands
In 1961, Clearwater teamed up with a local radio station and produced the first Star Spectacular event at the Clearwater Municipal Auditorium. These events ran monthly and sometimes weekly for nearly a decade. They brought in national rock ‘n’ roll acts and gave local garage bands a place to play. The Star Spectacular & Classic Car Show returns Saturday, this time at Station Square Park on Cleveland Street. The free event runs from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Music is by the Belloise Brothers, the Tempests, the New Tropics and the Impacs. Free parking is available at the Harborview Center, City Hall, the Municipal Services Building, Station Square and the Garden Avenue garage. For information, go to clearwaterstar spectacular.com.
